I think most people would agree with the notion that the quality of their personal lives impact their work lives. People bring their personal life energy to work as much as they bring work life energy to their personal lives. The boundaries of work and personal life are permeable and porous.
It is a worthwhile question how at work we can grow our capacity for the quality of our personal lives. We can form communities of interest, sharing learning, support and resources. We can create peer mentoring on all manner of life pursuits and challenges. We can connect people with resources and people with wishes.
