When we're generating solutions and approaches to anything, each option that emerges has three sides: yes, no and unknowns. The yes is what works about an option, its potential upsides and benefits. The no is what doesn't work, the risks and potential downsides and costs. The unknowns are the things about the option that aren't clear, known or confirmed. Intelligent consideration addresses all three sides rather than pretending any option only has one or two.
