The prime root cause of tension in teams

Tension is a given on teams. Symptomatically, tension shows up as frustrated expectations. One of the prime root causes is the lack of tested, mutual agreements.  In many situations, people violate agreements that actually don't yet exist. Roles are classic incubators of this dynamic because they spawn unilateral and often unspoken agreements.

The antidote is to create as many tested, mutual agreements we can on everything that matters to us.
