How Meaningful Should Work Be?

As much as gets said and inked about meaningful work, there is a whole swath of the workforce whose sense of meaning is extrinsically defined. With a consumer identity, they consider work meaningful if they get enough pay, incentives, bonuses, flexibility, accommodations and career path opportunities.

Inviting people to work in alignment of their dreams shifts them from consumer to contributor identities. They instead find and enjoy meaning more intrinsically defined as their ability to feel a sense of significance in the impact of their contributions to their dreams.
